Description
The Cottage is a 18th-century cottage located in a row with Tagley Cottage, Vine Cottage, and Jasmine Cottage. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features an ashlar stack that has been restored in brick. The main body of the building has a rectangular plan and consists of two storeys and an attic.
The facade has three windows, with two 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements on the first floor and a single light casement in the right-hand bay. On the ground floor, there is one 2-light and one 3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement. To the right, there is a 20th-century glazed door set within a flat-chamfered surround, which has the inscription 'I.H. 1757' in raised lettering on the lintel. Above this door, there is a flat canopy with a moulded margin supported by moulded stone brackets.
To the far left, there is a 19th-century four-panel door with the inscription '17 RHE 03' in raised lettering on the lintel, situated within a latticework porch that has a flat leaded roof. The building also features a gabled roof dormer, and some of the casements have leaded panes while others have horizontal glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
