Description

Furzen Leaze Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 18th-century farmhouse, likely refronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and has a stone slate roof and two low stone stacks. The main range is a single long building with two earlier rear wings that were originally separate but are now joined by a 20th-century linking unit. The farmhouse has two storeys and four windows. The upper floor has 2- or 3-light wooden casements with concrete lintels. The ground floor has three 16-pane sashes with large stone lintels and flush quoins. A small gabled porch is located in the centre bay to the right of the front, incorporating a 4-panel door—the top two panels glazed, the lower two flush—leading to the rear. A small lean-to is present on the right-hand return, featuring a 16-pane sash with a concrete lintel. The earlier rear wings contain leaded wooden casements and timber lintels; the wing to the west has a half-hipped gable end.
