Description

Barton Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 19th-century farmhouse situated near School House. The main range is a long, three-window building constructed of coursed rubble stone with dressed details, flush quoins, and a stone slate roof. It has ashlar stacks to the right and a large, double-flued ridge stack, both with offset details. The farmhouse is two storeys high and features three gables on the south side, each containing long, two-light stone mullion casements with flush quoin surrounds and square hoodmoulds, all with glazing bars. A similar three-light mullion casement is located below. A gabled porch with a flush stone Tudor archway sits between the second and third bays from the left, leading to a vertically battened plank door to the rear. The farmhouse represents a well-preserved example of an estate building.
