Description
The School House at Blockley Junior School, along with the north-west boundary wall, dates from the 1870s and showcases a vernacular Tudor-Gothic style. The building is constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and features slate roofs, coped verges, and saddlestones. It has an L-plan layout with two-light windows that include relieving arches and Caernarvon arch lights, arranged irregularly on the south-west front and within the gables. A solid stone hipped hood forms a porch at the angle of the house, leading to a doorway with a Caernarvon arch.
The school itself is designed in a U-plan with an additional block on one wing, using similar materials and style as the house. It features gabled windows, including a notable 4-light window with trefoil heads on the south-east side.
The north-west boundary is defined by a 5 to 6-foot high rubble wall that connects the School House to the Old Bakery, which is listed for local interest.
