Description
11 and 12 Upton Cottages are two former cottages that were originally one house, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The buildings are constructed of rubble with flush quoins and feature a Cotswold stone-slate roof. There are two stone gable stacks, one small rebuilt stack on the left and a larger stack on the right with a moulded cap and double diagonally set flues. The structure is a single range with small rear extensions and stands two storeys high with an attic.
The front facade has three windows, consisting of 3/2/3-light leaded casements that have flat-faced and chamfered stone mullions, along with a square hoodmould above. There are also two very small attic lights located in the gable on the right return. Additionally, two entrances were inserted at ground floor level on the left side in the 20th century.
