Description
Lowfield Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and has a Cotswold stone-slate roof featuring two stone gable stacks with offset and moulded caps. The building is a single range with a central projecting three-storey rear gable and smaller flanking wings. It has three storeys and three windows, which are 16-pane sashes set beneath large smooth stone lintels. The top storey features windows with a 4 over 8 pane configuration, instead of the typical 8 over 8. There are two similar ground floor windows along with a central round arch doorway that has a radial fanlight and a 20th-century glazed door. The main entrance is located on the right-hand rear wing and features a re-set flat moulded stone doorhead supported by brackets, along with a fine fielded six-panel door.
