Description
The property comprises two pairs of semi-detached cottages located on Church Road. Dating to the late 19th century, they are constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins, and have a stone slate roof with a prominent stone ridge stack featuring an offset and moulded cornice. Each pair is a single range with rear extensions, and has a single-storey-and-attic layout. The central section features two gables, each with a long two-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould containing metal casements, and a three-light window directly below. Large, projecting gabled porches are situated on the ends, featuring a chamfered square opening and a large blind trefoil above. The returns of the porches incorporate two-light stone mullion windows with square hoodmoulds on both floors. Number 157 has a 20th-century front door within the outer opening of the porch, while the remaining cottages retain their original boarded doors. The pairs of cottages are virtually unaltered.
