Description

A group of three chest tombs is located in the churchyard approximately 7 metres southeast of the tower of the Church of St John the Baptist. These tombs date from the late 18th century and early 19th century and are made of limestone. The group includes two tombs with fluted pilasters, one of which has a plain top inscribed to Richard -----, who died ----. The other has a coped top inscribed to John Brassington, who died in 1786, and Giles Smith, who died in 1803. The third chest tomb features plain recessed side panels and is inscribed to Mary Miller, who died in 1797.
