Description
The barn and adjoining animal shelter located to the north-west of Hazleton Manor Farmhouse is a Grade II listed structure, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a large, nearly central, projecting gabled cart entry on the south side, which is supported by a timber lintel. To the right, there is a small lean-to, while the left side has a lean-to with a corrugated-iron roof and two timber posts, which probably once served as a four-bay animal shelter. The barn has seven bays and is supported by collar and tie beam trusses. The animal shelter consists of six open bays, with tapering stone columns between them, and it retains partial remains of a wooden manger at the rear. The end bay features a curved-out wall with two slit vents and is adjacent to the base of the former Abbey Barn.
