Description
The gates and wall forming the entrance to Batsford Park Stables, located on the Batsford Estate, were built in 1878 by Sir Ernest George for John Freeman-Mitford. The structure features rock-faced limestone walls and gate piers, with wooden gates. The walls, which are approximately 1.5 meters high, curve inward towards the entrance, which consists of two single gates on either side of a wider central entrance. This wide entrance is flanked by two gate piers that have moulded ashlar caps and banded ball finials. There are also similar piers on the left and right of the single gates, each topped with pyramidal caps.
