Description
23 North Cerney is a cottage located in North Cerney Village. It dates from the 17th century, with a later extension from the 18th or 19th century. The building is constructed of limestone rubble, featuring stone slate roofing at the front and concrete tiles at the rear. There is a 20th-century artificial stone stack that imitates ashlar. The main body of the cottage is L-shaped, consisting of one and a half storeys, with a single-storey extension added to the gable end.
On the ground floor, from left to right, there is a 20th-century six-pane top-opening casement window, a 19th-century plank door with a single pane at the top, a three-light wooden casement window with horizontal glazing bars and a timber lintel, and a small two-pane light with a timber lintel. The main body also features two gabled eaves dormers with two lights each.
The later extension includes a plank door at the gable end, a single-light window to the left, and a pitching window above. There is a triangular arrangement of pigeon holes towards the apex of the gable. A gable-end stack is present on the main body of the cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
