Description
Charlcote House and the old stable block, located to the south-west of Charlcote, date from the 18th century and were remodeled in both the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a moulded stone eaves cornice and features a Cotswold stone roof that includes two small gabled dormers and an ashlar chimney on the right. It has four windows, which are grouped glazing bar sashes with bull-nose cills, and there are indications in the masonry of former mullion-and-transom-type windows. A band course runs above the ground floor. The central door is topped with a fanlight and hood, with a moulded panel above it. To the left, the former stable, now part of a restaurant, appears to be early 18th century and also has a Cotswold stone roof. It features a central lunette window and flanking porthole windows on the first floor. Below these are two plate glass sash windows with keys and bull-nose cills, along with a depressed arch for the coachway.
