COLN ST DENNIS COLN ST DENNIS VILLAGE SP 0810-0910 14/127 Barn and open-fronted store c50m south of The Manor (formerly 23.1.52 listed under Manor House and barns)

GV II

Barn and open-fronted store. C18-early C19. Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins; stone slate roof to barn; thatched roof to the open-fronted store. Rectangular plan to barn with a projecting porch on the west. Open-fronted store at the south gable end. West (garden) front of barn with projecting gabled porch with double plank doors off-centre right; blocked pitching window with a timber lintel above. Single-width doorway to the left-hand return. Three-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to the north gable end; pigeon holes with landings towards the apex of the gable. Eastern (roadside) elevation: double plank doors off-centre left; 2-light window upper left. Open-fronted store with 4-bay open-fronted bays divided by circular stone-built columns. Interior of barn not inspected. The east (roadside) front forms a prominent feature at the centre of the village.
