Description

The cross and cross shaft base, located in the churchyard of the Church of St James beside the gate to the churchyard, is a medieval structure that was restored in memory of Queen Victoria in 1901. It is made of limestone and features a square plinth that supports an early square hollow-moulded cross-shaft base. The octagonal cross shaft has a Maltese cross at its apex and an inscription dedicated to Queen Victoria around its base.
