Description

The Digger Monument is a chest tomb located about 6 meters south of the south porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates John Digger, who died in 1809. The monument is made of limestone and features a moulded plinth and capping on its base, with plain recessed panels on the ends and sides. The inscription is located only on the south side. At the time of the survey in August 1985, the tomb was leaning to the north-west.
