Description
Manchester House is a house that also has a shop on the ground floor. It was originally built in the early 17th century and was raised to three storeys in the 18th century. The front features a projecting shop front from the 20th century. The building is constructed of random coursed rubble stone up to a drip mould over the first floor, with coursed stone above. The front has a slate roof, while the rear has a stone slate roof and a lateral stack.
The house has a single front range of three storeys with a projecting half-hipped wing at the rear that is two storeys high. There are three windows on the front, which are 4-pane sashes. Originally, the first floor likely had a three-light stone mullion window on each side, with a continuous drip mould raised in the centre over what was probably a two-light stone mullion and transom, which still has a larger beaded moulding in place, along with a relieving arch above. The former three-light windows on each side have now been partially filled with stone walling and partially lengthened for sashes. There is a throughway to the right on the ground floor, featuring a voussoir flat arch.
