Description
This barn, located about 10 yards west of Kirkham Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century and incorporates some earlier materials. It is constructed from coursed rubble resting on a high chamfered plinth, with ashlar quoins. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and features coped verges, kneelers, and finials at the gables. The barn has a layout of 2:5 bays, with the 5-bay section showcasing a central projecting gabled entry flanked by side buttresses and weatherboards in the upper chamber. There are triangular vents present, along with two modern garage entries and a dormer in the left-hand two bays. Inside, there is a mid-19th century king-post roof structure. On the north side, a relieving arch leads to a doorway that is aligned with the gabled entry.
