Description
The dovecote at the Manor House is possibly from the late 16th century, but it may also date from the mid-17th century, around the same time as the house itself. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Cotswold stone roof. The structure has six gables, arranged in a 2 x 1 configuration, each with a two-light stone mullion window that includes a drip mould. The gables are topped with stone coping, and there are two lanterns on the ridge. The small central entrance has a four-centred arch with panelled spandrels and a label. Inside, the dovecote is divided into two columbaria by a partition wall, and it is entirely filled with nesting boxes, which can accommodate up to 27 layers from the ground to the apex of the gables.
