Description
The Coach House Restaurant, formerly stables to the Manor House, is thought to date from the 1770s but is in an early 18th-century style. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a low-pitched slate roof with coped verges, four ridge stacks, and a large central wooden octagonal cupola topped with a weathervane. The building has a symmetrical two-storey elevation with a layout of 1:3:1:3:1 bays.
There are central and outer large arched doorways with keystones and imposts, above which are keyed bullseyes. The first floor has small two-light mullion windows, while the ground floor features large cross mullion windows, all with hollow chamfer mouldings. The ground floor windows are positioned beside lower square-headed stable doorways that have raised and keyed surrounds. The doors have leaded lights, with the outer panelled doors, one of which is glazed. The central door is partially blocked and now contains a glazed door with a seven-light pointed fanlight featuring perpendicular tracery. The rear includes two and three-light mullioned windows and a central doorway with a keystone and transom light.
