Description
This is a villa dating from approximately 1830 to 1850, with later alterations. It is constructed of stucco over brick, with a hipped slate roof and stucco hip stacks. The exterior has two storeys and attic space, featuring three first-floor windows and a service range to the rear. Notable features include quoins to the ground-floor angles, a first-floor band, a stepped eaves band, and wide eaves. The windows are predominantly 6/6 sashes, with tooled, eared architraves to the ground floor, which incorporate aprons. The central entrance has a four-panel, part-glazed door, set within a pilastered porch with sunk panels. An attic dormer contains 6/6 sashes. The left return has two first-floor windows and a breakforward with a ground-floor bow window. Stucco detailing mirrors the front facade, and the bow window above contains French windows with margin lights. The interior has not been inspected. The property occupies a prominent corner site alongside numbers 60 Painswick Road and 62 Painswick Road, including Brandon House.
