Lodge. c1857. Architect JJ Rowland for Thomas Packer Walter Butt. Coursed hammer-dressed rubble with ashlar quoins, stone-tile roof with coped verges (kneelers have cusped panels); octagonal chimneys. Tudor style. L-shaped on plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, single gabled bay with single-storey porch to angle and single-storey, single bay to right. Chamfered plinth. String over ground floor with carved leaf enrichment. Ground floor has canted bay window with 2- between 1-light mullion and transom windows; 2-light mullion and transom window above. Porch has 4-centred arch, within a plank door. Mullioned windows with leaded casements on north and west sides. Pair of tall octagonal ridge stacks with cornices. Shaped copings to gable ends with trefoiled kneelers. INTERIOR: not inspected. All the listed buildings at Arle Court form a good group.
