Wall, gates and piers. c1857. Architect JJ Rowland for Thomas Walter Packer Butt. Brick walls with stone copings and ashlar piers with cast- and wrought-iron gates and overthrow and railings. Wall about 2m tall in 2 sections, of approx. 6 and 40m long. Outer plain piers have plinth, cornice and low blocking course, inner piers have panelling to shafts and obelisk finials, inner gate piers have obelisk finials. Spear-head railings on low walls between outer and inner piers; double gates have lower enriched scroll panel then bars, similar enriched scroll overthrow. All the listed items at Arle Court form a good group.
