Description
Nesley Croft is a house built around 1660 to 1690, with later additions and alterations, including a front porch and a rear range added in 1972. The structure features a timber frame on a stone plinth, with brick nogging and plaster infill, topped by a plain tile roof and an off-centre right brick stack that has been renewed. The exterior is one-and-a-half storeys high and consists of three bays, with additional ranges at the rear. The entrance is on the left and consists of a 20th-century plank door. The house has mid-20th-century casement windows throughout and two attic dormers. The right gable wall retains three square frames, which have been renewed. Inside, the house is noted for having a wooden date tablet above the fireplace inscribed 'IAH 1690', and it is reputed to contain a beam dated 1660.
