Description
The Friars is a house located at the end of a row on Deep Street in Prestbury, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone with a slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and features a symmetrical, two-storey facade with three windows. The first floor has two-light steel casements with dressed stone surrounds that include rebates. The ground floor was originally lit by two two-light stone mullioned casements, but the stone mullions have since been removed. There is a central 20th-century glazed door adorned with decorative wrought ironwork above the glass, along with a stopped hood and remnants of the house name in Gothic script above the door. On the right-hand return, there are two small lights on the first floor. The roof is hipped at the right gable end, which also has gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
