Description

This is a 17th-century detached cottage located on the west side of Deep Street, Prestbury. The cottage has a timber-frame structure with painted infill panels, some areas rendered with pebble-dash, and other areas weatherboarded. The roof is thatched, with decorative ridge thatching and a partly painted brick stack. The plan is rectangular, and includes a lean-to addition with a glazed roof that is not of particular architectural interest. The cottage has two storeys, featuring a single light window, along with 2 and 3-light casement windows with leaded panes, some dating to the 20th century, while others may be from the 18th or 19th centuries. A flush 6-panel door is positioned off-centre to the left. The roof is half-hipped. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected. It is believed that the cottage might have been originally converted from a tithe barn associated with Llanthony Priory.
