Description

The White House is a villa built around 1810, featuring stucco over brick and a double-pitch slate roof. It has a right rear stack and end stacks on the main range, along with a wrought-iron verandah, porch, and balcony.

The exterior consists of two storeys above a basement on the right side of the main range. It has three first-floor windows and a tall single-storey, two-bay extension to the right, as well as a one plus five window return extension. The windows on the main range's first floor are 8/8 sashes with margin-lights that include coloured glass. The ground floor has two 20th-century tall French windows with glazing bars, one of which is set in a breakforward position. The extension features tall 4/4 sashes, all set in plain reveals with sills. The central entrance to the main range has three steps leading up to 20th-century glazed double doors. The main range also has a cornice and blocking course with copings. The rear range contains 8/8 and 6/6 sashes.

Inside, the property retains original joinery and plasterwork, including two doorways in the hall with reeded architraves and corner blocks, panelled shutters on the windows, and a staircase with a wreathed handrail.

Notable subsidiary features include a ground floor verandah to the left with scrolls on the uprights and a frieze that continues as a porch, and a central balcony on the first floor adorned with a scrolled double heart motif.
