Description
House at 49 Little Herberts Road, dating from around 1600, has been remodeled and features a mid-20th century entrance porch on the right side of the front. The structure is timber-framed and rendered on the east facade, with a brick gable end to the north. It has a steeply-pitched slate roof and a Cotswold stone ashlar and brick stack on the south gable end. The house is one-and-a-half storeys tall. The entrance is through the 20th-century porch, which obscures part of the front. It has casement windows, and the east wall showcases the timber frame. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace that has been partly filled in with a bressumer beam, along with the remains of a bread oven. It is reputed to have had a winder staircase beside the stack, which was removed in the mid-20th century.
