SO9620SW NEWCOURT ROAD 630-1/36/104 (West side) 14/12/83 Boundary wall, formerly to Moorend Park (Formerly Listed as: NEWCOURT ROAD Former boundary wall of Moorend Park)

GV II

Boundary wall. c1784-1800 with extensive restorations and rebuilding of late C19 and late C20. Pinkish-brown and red brick, partly in English bond, mostly with stone coping, some glazed brick coping. Approx 3m to road with all buttresses at regular intervals; the southern section and the return to Moorend Road (approx 30m long) is lower, about 1.5m. The wall forms a long (approx 130m) and sinuous boundary on the west side of Newcourt Road. On the west side of the wall, about opposite the south wing of Court House an inscribed stone has been built in which bears early C18 dates and Whithorne names (local landowners). Extent of original wall backs onto Nos 7, 9, 11, 19 & 23 Pine Trees (not included).
