Description
This is a gateway that was formerly part of the Court House, located in the garden behind Number 16 Newcourt Park, which is not included in this listing. The gateway dates from the 18th century and consists of two ashlar gate piers that have beaded corners and moulded capping. It features wrought iron gates and an overthrow. Originally, these gates served as the entrance to The Court House on Newcourt Road, which now faces east. In the 1970s, the garden of The Court House was sold for building plots, resulting in the separation of the gates and piers from the Court House, although they still maintain a group value with it.
