Description
The boundary wall with gates and railings to St Mary's Churchyard, located in Charlton Kings, dates from around 1853 and was constructed by J Cornell at a cost of £685. This structure features limestone ashlar with iron railings and gates. The wall is a dwarf design with shaped copings and cross-gabled piers at intervals, which include cusping in the gables. The railings are adorned with arrowhead bars. There are gateways in recesses to the north-east, west, and south, with double gates featuring arrowhead bars and dogbars, while a single gate is present to the east. A timber lychgate is located to the north-west. This boundary wall is an important feature of the streetscape and is integral to the setting of the Church of St Mary.
