Description
A pair of terraced houses built around 1810 to 1820, shown on the Post Office Map of 1820. The houses are stuccoed over brick with concealed roofs and tall brick party-wall stacks. They are two storeys high, with two first-floor windows and entrance ranges to each side. The ground and first floors have eight-pane sashes where original, while the second floor has four-pane sashes where original. There is a blocking course and copings to the roof. The entrance to the left is a four-panel door, and the entrance to the right has an arched opening in a low wall with copings. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. They were addressed as Southampton Place on Merrett’s 1834 Map.
