Description
Jessop House and the attached railings to numbers 30 and 31 are three terraced houses, now serving as houses and shops, built around 1820 to 1850. The buildings feature pinkish-brown brick with stucco facades on numbers 31 and 32, and have concealed slate roofs, brick party-wall stacks, and wrought-iron railings and balconies with lead decorations. The structure is four storeys high with basements and has a total of 12 first-floor windows, with four for each house.
The stucco detailing on numbers 31 and 32 includes incised Greek key decoration on the first floor and an incised cambered arch motif on the first and second floors. The first and second floors have 6/6 sash windows, with the first floor windows being taller, while the third floor features 3/3 sashes. The ground floor has a 6/6 sash window for number 31 and 1/1 sashes for number 30. The entrances to numbers 30 and 31 are accessed by steps leading to off-centre right entrances, featuring 6-panel doors with fanlights; the door for number 30 has decorative glazing. The ground floors also have glazed shop fronts.
The interior has not been inspected. Notably, numbers 30 and 31 have first-floor balconies adorned with a rod and flower motif, and the railings feature twists at the heads and urns on the stanchions. This building forms a group with and is adjacent to Sita House, numbers 1 and 2 Bath Street.
