Description

Southfield Manor is a house dating from circa 1700 to 1735, with later additions and alterations including 19th-century ground floor bay windows and a 20th-century garage to the right. The house is built of rendered brick with a renewed tile roof.

It is two-and-a-half storeys high, with three bays; the outer bays have gables. The first floor features three-light mullion windows on the outer bays, and a two-light window with chamfered stone mullions in the centre. Some of the mullion windows are 20th-century replacements. The attics to the gables have two-light casement windows. The central porch has a four-centred doorway, now fitted with a plank door and overlight. Square bay windows are located on either side of the ground floor, with casement windows and stone mullions. Rear stacks are visible, and a two-story bay window was added to the west in the mid-19th century.

The interior, as recorded in the 1983 list, includes an original staircase with an uncut string, fat turned balusters, and a moulded handrail, along with original roof structure.
