Description
Laburnham House is a house dating from approximately the 1820s to 1850s. It is constructed of stucco over brickwork with a concealed roof. The house is three storeys high, originally featuring two six-over-six sash windows on the first floor, with three six-over-six windows on the right return. Horizontal bands extend to the right return. The first and second floors have six-over-six sashes; the second floor windows are original, in plain reveals with sills. The entrance on the right facade is reached by steps leading to a six-panel door with a fanlight featuring decorative glazing, set within a round-arched reveal. The right return has a variety of window sizes including six-over-six, three-over-six, one-over-one sashes, and two blind openings. The interior includes original joinery, such as a Regency staircase and hall door surrounds, as noted in a 1983 list. Attached to the sides of the steps are railings with stick balusters. The house occupies a corner site where Bath Road meets St Philip's Street.
