Description

The gate-piers, wall, and railings attached to the north of the Vicarage in Lamerton date from the late 18th century, with some later alterations to the wall. They are constructed from a mix of slatestone rubble and granite, featuring cast iron railings. The square rubble piers stand about 2 metres high and include a plinth, a granite cornice, and a ball finial on a shaped stem. A rubble wall, also about 2 metres high, is built between the piers, blocking a former entrance. This wall extends to the left for about 5 metres at a height of approximately 1.5 metres and about 2 metres to the right, topped with slate copings. The railings are attached to the right of the wall and measure about 4 metres long, featuring knob finials on a granite plinth.
