Description

The Westaway headstone, located approximately 7 metres south of the church porch in Sampford Courtenay, dates from 1783. It is made of slate and features a shaped head with carved heads in low relief at the corners. The headstone commemorates John Westaway, Gent., and includes a rhyming epitaph below.
