Description

This is a mid-18th century headstone located about 12 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of St Constantine in Milton Abbot. Made of slate, the headstone features a nowy shape with damaged canted corners, commemorating John Westlake, who died in 1751. At the top, there is a clock face and crossbones carved in relief, surrounded by decorative foliage arabesques. The inscription includes ornamental capital letters, with a verse below that is enhanced by inscribed scrollwork.
