Description

Glebe House is a house dating to the mid-17th century, with possible origins in an earlier period. It is constructed of plastered rubble and cob walls, with a thatched roof that gables to the right end and dips to the left. The house has two brick stacks: one axial and one at the right gable end. Originally, the plan comprised three rooms; either a through passage or direct entry into the left-hand, unheated room, which may be an addition. The central and right-hand rooms were heated by stacks at each end. The front facade is asymmetrical and features a three-window arrangement with 20th-century small-paned 2-light casements. A 20th-century stable-type door is located to the left of centre, sheltered by a slate doorhood supported on posts. Adjacent to the door is a rectangular brick oven projection. A lower outbuilding range, likely dating to the 19th century, is situated at the right-hand end. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey.
