Description
This building is a shippon with attached pig-sties, located approximately 20 metres to the south-west of Venton Farmhouse in Buckland Monachorum. It features rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof, and is divided into two sections: the left side serves as a shippon, while the right side may have been a stable. In front of the right side, there are two pig-sties. The building is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front. In the centre, there are two doorways with timber lintels. The pig-sties project to the right, featuring a feeding hatch on the left end wall. To the left of centre, there is a wide doorway with a stone arch, along with two slit openings on the ground floor and a small window on the first floor above. The left-hand gable end includes a stone-framed single light on the ground floor.
