Description

Pound House is an 18th-century building located in Bere Ferrers. It is constructed from coursed slatestone rubble and features a gabled corrugated iron roof. The house has a rectangular one-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a single window range. There is a segmental stone arch over a 20th-century plank door to the left of a two-light window, with another window above it set beneath the eaves. A timber lintel is present over a 20th-century plank loft door on the gable end. Inside, there is a 19th-century cider press that includes an oak press along with cast-iron screws and cogs.
