Description

Canal Farmhouse is an incline keeper's cottage that has been converted into a farmhouse, dating from around 1850 with some later alterations. The building is constructed of rubble and is whitewashed, with slate hanging above the ground floor on the front and left side. It features a slate roof with a large gable end stack with a shaped cap on the left and another gable end stack on the right. The layout is double depth with a central entrance; there is also a secondary entrance from the 20th century leading into a room on the front left.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows with horns, while the ground floor includes a 20th-century door to the left and a 20th-century two-light casement window to the right of the central door, which has cover strips and a glazed panel. The right side of the building has a 20th-century two-light casement window on the ground floor right, along with three-pane and four-pane attic lights. The left side features a similar casement window on the ground floor right and similar attic lights. The interior has not been inspected.
