Description
This is a pair of chest tombs located about 5 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, dating from the mid-19th century. The southernmost tomb is made of granite ashlar and features a chamfered plinth, a cornice, and a stone lid with an inscription commemorating Charles Symons, who died in 1857, along with other members of the Symons family. The northernmost tomb, signed by Deacon Milton, is constructed from stone rubble and has a stone lid. A slate inscription panel set into the south side commemorates Thomas Symons, who died in 1851, with well-crafted lettering within an oval border.
