Description

Sydenham Bridge is a road bridge that crosses the River Lyd. It is likely a rebuilding from the 18th century of an earlier structure. The bridge is constructed of stone rubble with dressed stone arches and features two spans, parapets, and one tall cutwater. The westernmost arch appears to be slightly skewed, and the bridge has elliptical, slightly recessed ring arches. The road that runs over the bridge serves as the approach to the west front of Sydenham House.
