Description
This is a 17th-century farmhouse with a barn attached to its southwest side, likely incorporating earlier elements and with an addition from the 19th century. The farmhouse has walls of rendered cob, with some concrete block repairs on the rear. The roof is thatched, with slate covering the addition to the left. There are brick stacks, one at the left gable and another axial stack built on a stone base.
The original layout of the rooms isn't fully clear, but the farmhouse now comprises two rooms, with a larger room to the left and an adjoining barn at the right-hand end. A one-room plan addition, likely a kitchen, was added in the 19th century on the left-hand side.
The front of the farmhouse presents an asymmetrical three-window facade with early 20th-century two-light casement windows. The left-hand addition has a 19th-century plank door. To the right of this is an early 19th-century six-panel door, protected by a pedimented doorhood and latticework porch. The barn, attached at the right-hand end, has a wide doorway and a loading hatch above.
Inside, few original features are visible due to later alterations, though they could be concealed. The roof structure includes 18th-century rough principals with lapped and pegged collars.
