Description

These are two and three-storey terraced houses, numbers 20 to 22 Meeting Street, Appledore. They likely date from the 18th century and have undergone alterations. The frontages are of painted brick, with a blank first-floor window formerly decorated with painted detail to resemble a window. The houses feature sash windows with exposed frames, and altered glazing bays. The roofs are covered with renewed slate tiles. Numbers 20 and 21 have door hoods supported by moulded brackets, which are likely restored. Number 22 has an altered dormer and a wooden doorcase decorated with incised line ornament to the pilasters, likely dating from the early to mid-19th century. The listed buildings along Meeting Street form a notable group.
