Description
The stable block, located about 20 meters south of Tetcott Manor, is a Grade II listed building that may date back to the late 18th century or earlier. It incorporates bricks and quoins from a house built around 1700 that no longer exists. The structure is made of Flemish bond brick with rusticated granite quoins and features a hipped scantle slate roof. It has a square plan with an adjoining lean-to that serves as an office. Originally designed as stables with a tack room above, one stable has been converted into a garage. The building is two storeys high, with two first-floor two-light windows on each side, mostly retaining their old square-leaded panes. On the south side, there are two stable doors, while the east side has one stable door and a 20th-century garage door. The north side, which faces the south elevation of Tetcott Manor, features a two-light 19th-century casement window under a segmental brick arch and a 19th-century doorway under a similar arch to the right. The building once had a ball finial on the apex of the roof. It is prominently situated directly in front of the garden to the south of Tetcott Manor, positioned between the Manor and the Church.
