Description
Cottage at Wrinkleberry, built in the 18th century, is located to the west of the village school in Clovelly. The cottage is rendered and whitewashed, featuring a thatched roof that is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with a brick stack at the apex. The layout consists of two rooms on either side of a central entrance hall, which includes a wide straight-flight staircase. The room on the left is unheated, while the room on the right likely serves as the kitchen and has a gable-end fireplace.
The cottage is two storeys high with two symmetrical bays. The left side has 2-light 19th-century casements with small panes, and the right side features large 3-light early 20th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars. The central entrance has a half-glazed 20th-century door and a shallow lean-to porch. Inside, the right ground floor room includes a chamfered axial ceiling beam and a fireplace with a cambered wood lintel, along with an oven that has a cast-iron door.
