Description

This barn, located approximately 10 meters northeast of East Ash Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century, with an early 19th-century extension on the left side. The original 18th-century section is constructed of cob set on a stone plinth, while the early 19th-century extension is made of coursed slatestone rubble. The barn features a gabled roof covered with corrugated iron. On the right side, cob cheeks flank corrugated iron doors, and there are similar doors on the left, along with 19th-century plank double doors at the rear. Inside, the barn has ten early 19th-century A-frame trusses with pegged collars.
