Description
Higher Hollamoor Farmhouse is a late medieval farmhouse that was remodelled in the 17th century and subsequently altered. The exterior is colourwashed render over a cob and stone construction, topped with a gabled corrugated iron roof. It features a 17th-century stack at the left end and a front lateral stack built of rendered stone with drip courses. Originally, the house had a medieval open-hall plan, which was converted in the 17th century into a two-storey, three-unit layout. The front elevation, arranged along a slope, has three sections with a window arrangement of 2:2:1 bays. A timber lintel sits above a 20th-century door to the right of the lateral stack. Early to mid-19th century two- and three-light casement windows are set within flat rendered arches. A bay to the right, originally without windows, now has a late 19th-century one-storey extension to the front, with a gabled slate roof. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
