Description
Home Lodge, located at the principal driveway to Clovelly Court, is a lodge built in 1900 by architect Percy Fielding for Christine Hamlyn. It features a central plastered gable with raised lettering that reads "GO EAST GO WEST HOME'S THE BEST FH CH AD 1900". The building has brick walls and a hipped plain-tiled roof with three brick stacks, two of which are very prominent.
The lodge has a T-shaped plan with a service wing at right angles to the rear. The entrance is located to the right side of a central bay window that has canted sides. The exterior is single storey and includes a central canted 7-light bay window with square-paned leaded lights and a cornice on consoles above. There is a front-facing gable with the aforementioned lettering, and to the right of the frontage, there is a similar 2-light casement window. The front features a modillion eaves cornice.
On the left side of the front-facing wing, there is a door opening with a half-glazed door and a porch that has an arcade of four arches, forming an open loggia with a wooden balustrade. Additionally, there is a canted bay window on the left return. The interior has not been seen.
